The only non-royal country house to hold the title of ‘palace’ this impressive home is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by 2,000 acres of parkland, Blenheim Palace’s spectacular interiors include an exquisite collection of portraits, furniture, tapestries and porcelain. Unbeknown to many, it’s also the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.

England’s greatest Elizabethan House, Burghley was built for Sir William Cecil. Attractions include a maze of extravagantly decorated rooms, portraits of the Cecil family, Elizabeth I, Henry VIII and Oliver Cromwell as well as 2,000 acres of gardens and a deer park.
