Get the Look: Statement Walls

Despite the fact that they’re one of the largest surfaces in any house, our walls often get side-stepped in favour of more exciting options when it comes to choosing a décor scheme. Today on the blog however, we’re turning our attention to this part of a room and pulling out a few inspirational ways in which they can bring your look to life.

From bright hues to exposed brickwork and picture galleries there are endless ways to make the most of your walls and we guarantee they’ll give any space a beautifully ‘designed’ edge.

Pieces of art are one of the easiest ways to decorate empty walls and if you’ve got the space why not make a statement? You’ll see in the image above that the painting helps to tie this look together – without it the chair and the dresser would look a little lost.

Mirrors are also a great way to accessorise your walls and will help to bounce light around the room too. Choose designs with plenty of character to make the most of their placement.

Be brave with your paint choices and consider painting a wall (or two) in a bold hue. Darker colours are very much in vogue at present and are perfect for formal spaces. White skirting and gallery displays are a great way of breaking up these backdrops and will prevent them from overwhelming a room.
