You’ve heard the saying ‘home is where the heart is’, so what better place for a weekend away than along Britain’s 12,400km of scenic coastline. Brimming with tales of a Jurassic past, and unique beaches that are a treat to the eye, there’s plenty of places ready for exploration!

From foodies to adventurers, this week’s blog is dedicated to those who really do like to be beside the seaside – and with Whitsun Week fast approaching, why not plan a break away to one of these idyllic coastal destinations?

Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight is a brilliant family-friendly destination that offers plenty of adventure and activities for all ages! Situated just off the southern coast of England, this compact island is a mere 26mile stretch from Freshwater to Bembridge, meaning each part of the Island is easily accessible!

Take a trip on the cable cars offering a picturesque and dramatic view of The Needles, or take the children to Monkey Haven, a primate rescue centre, a quick 10-minute drive from the island’s central town, Newport.

Borth, Wales

Just down the scenic road is Ynyslas National Nature Reserve which boasts miles of beautiful clean beaches and rolling sand dunes, providing homes to many rare species of plants and insects.

For avid birdwatchers, there are plenty of viewing platforms along all four walking trails throughout the park. Keep your eye out for the Stonechats, Linnets and Larks swooping high above!

Blakeney, Norfolk
